As the flagship of Focal’s Shape series, this compact 2.5-way active nearfield monitor combines a wide, precise stereo image with impressive control through the critical bass and low-midrange regions, making it a serious studio tool that does not demand a massive control room. The Shape Twin uses two Flax-cone woofers, an aluminum-magnesium M-profile inverted-dome tweeter, and a pair of side-mounted passive radiators to produce clear, articulate monitoring without relying on a conventional bass-reflex port. This ventless design allows the monitor to work effectively near walls while delivering controlled low-end extension and excellent transient response. Focal’s TMD suspension helps reduce unwanted resonance in the midrange, while NIC technology stabilizes the magnetic field for improved definition and lower distortion. A 2.5-way D’Appolito configuration gives the Shape Twin additional authority and control without sacrificing the focused imaging required for nearfield monitoring. Rear-panel room-adjustment controls let engineers tailor the monitor to different workspaces, speaker positions, and console surfaces. Balanced XLR and unbalanced RCA inputs make integration straightforward, while mounting inserts on the rear and underside provide additional placement flexibility for professional studio installations.
