With a three-way design and dual Focus Mode, Trio6 can operate as three different monitoring systems from a single cabinet, making it easy to evaluate a mix across full-range, two-way, and single-driver perspectives without cluttering the studio with multiple speaker pairs. Trio6 combines an 8-inch “W” composite-cone subwoofer, a 5-inch “W” composite-cone midrange driver, and a Beryllium inverted-dome tweeter for detailed, low-distortion reproduction across the frequency spectrum. Focal’s TMD suspension technology improves midrange control, while the large laminar port supports deep, articulate bass without distracting port noise. The reinforced 22 mm MDF cabinet provides the rigidity and damping needed to keep unwanted vibration from coloring critical listening decisions. Dual Focus Mode dramatically expands the monitor’s usefulness. At the touch of an optional footswitch, engineers can move between the complete three-way system, a two-way configuration using the midrange driver and tweeter, or a full-range one-way configuration using only the midrange driver. The rotatable tweeter and midrange mounting plate also allows Trio6 to be positioned vertically or horizontally, while onboard sensitivity, filtering, shelving EQ, 160 Hz compensation, and switchable automatic standby controls simplify integration into a wide range of professional studios.
