The Focal Shape 50 Studio Monitor brings revealing detail, controlled bass, and flexible room placement to compact professional studios.

Designed for nearfield monitoring at distances as close as 31 inches, this powered monitor delivers a broad 50 Hz to 35 kHz frequency response from a space-conscious, port-free cabinet. Whether you are recording, mixing, producing, or editing, the Shape 50 provides the clarity needed to make confident decisions without demanding a large control room. A 5-inch Flax cone woofer combines light weight, rigidity, and effective damping for articulate low frequencies and a natural, detailed midrange. Focal’s TMD surround helps stabilize the driver suspension, while the NIC magnetic circuit supports precise control and reduced distortion. High frequencies are handled by a 1-inch Aluminum-Magnesium M-profile tweeter engineered for excellent definition and low directivity, providing a wider and more flexible listening position. Dual 5-inch passive radiators extend the low-frequency response without a traditional bass-reflex port, allowing the Shape 50 to operate close to a wall while maintaining controlled bass performance. Rear-panel adjustments include selectable high-pass filtering and separate bass, low-midrange, and high-frequency controls for integrating the monitor with different rooms and listening setups. Balanced XLR and unbalanced RCA inputs accommodate professional and consumer-level audio sources, while dedicated Class AB amplifiers provide 60 watts to the woofer and 25 watts to the tweeter.
