The Vertigo Sound VSE-2 Gyrator Equalizer is designed to provide the sound of the golden decade of analog recording equipment, with the specs demanded by today's digital studio environment, giving the gentle and smooth frequency processing everyone is looking for in nowadays. This makes the VSE-2 perfect for tracking, mixing, buss, and mastering applications.

The Vertigo Sound VSE-2 Gyrator Equalizer is a 3–Band Dual Mono Equalizer with 18 selectable frequencies on each channel. This EQ utilizes discrete circuitry in the EQ section only. The frequency is selected by a discrete gyrator circuit in each band. Cut and Boost are realized with a dual discrete operational amplifier which is also used in Vertigo Sound’s Mic Pre — the VSP-2.

The Vertigo Sound VSE-2 Gyrator Equalizer is another BIG IMPACT DESIGN and is setting a new benchmark for Tracking, Mix-Bus and Mastering applications. Unlike other EQs on the market the VSE-2 is equipped with six discrete gyrators and lots of matchless detailed features. This unique set-up makes the sound of the golden decade of analog recording equipment available in today‘s studio environment.

    Hit it hard. Trust me.

Great EQ. Seems limited at first glance but it's not really a channel EQ as it is a bus EQ. The freq choices are really well chosen and it's quick to find something that sounds great. I absolutely love it. Not only does it look sharp but a secret of the gyrators that it uses for the EQ is that they saturate as you hit them harder so don't be afraid to boost the audio going into this unit. Sometimes I've done two passes - a pass at my normal working volume and another pass hitting it 10db harder and it sounds like two different EQs. The pass with the higher volume usually sounds much better. If you have a great mix or well tracked instruments, this will really bring out the positive traits and really enhance it. If it's not tracked well, this EQ isn't really enough of a mangler to fix it like some EQs are. But honestly, if you have well tracked and well mixed stuff, and you hit this EQ a little on the harder side, what it can bring to a mix is almost magic. It'll knock your socks off. I'm really happy with it and considering picking up a second and possibly a third (one for master bus, one for drum bus, and one for vocal bus!) A great unit.
