Drawing on design elements from the SR-1A and SR-2N, the SR-3 uses a passive, high-output ribbon motor that delivers a strong signal without active electronics adding noise to the recording chain. Its 3-inch ribbon, powerful neodymium magnets, and proprietary toroidal transformer work together to provide a flatter, more extended response while preserving the smooth transients and musical character engineers expect from a premium ribbon microphone. The SR-3 is handmade in Nashville with a machined aluminum body and an internal suspension system that helps isolate the ribbon motor from unwanted vibration.
