The Radial ProD2 Passive Direct Box is a rugged, great-sounding stereo DI designed to handle everything from keyboards and samplers to laptops, drum machines, and playback rigs with total reliability.
The Radial ProD2's warm sound, legendary build quality and compact design have made it the most popular stereo direct box made today. Built around Radial’s custom-wound transformers, the ProD2 delivers clean, natural sound while eliminating noise, ground loops, and signal loss—making it a trusted go-to for studios, stages, and broadcast environments. The ProD2 features a completely passive design that requires no power, making it incredibly dependable in live and mobile setups. Each channel is transformer-isolated to provide excellent noise rejection and wide frequency response, while handling hot line-level signals without distortion. A -15 dB pad on each channel allows it to easily accommodate high-output sources, and the ground lift switches help eliminate hum and buzz in problematic systems. Housed in Radial’s signature steel book-end enclosure, the ProD2 is built to survive years of touring and daily studio use. Whether you’re running stereo keyboards, DJ mixers, playback tracks, or line-level audio into a console, the ProD2 delivers consistent, professional results every time.

The standard in direct boxes
Mar 29th 2025I already consider this direct box a standard in direct boxes. It's not the most expensive, but it's not the cheapest either, but it does what it says on the tin. Excellent build quality and excellent sound insulation. Top-notch.

A workhorse that sounds good
Mar 2nd 2021I've used both this and the JDI Stereo. I honestly can't hear a difference between them. They're both build rock-solid, they both work whenever I need them too, and the PROD2 costs half of what the JDI Stereo does. A no-brainer.

Built like a tank
Nov 30th 2020It's weird to be inspired by a DI box but I am. It does the job, does it simply, and does it very well. I've lost count of the number of times this box has solved problems for me. Built like a tank, I've accidentally dropped one off the front of the stage. Chassis was a little dented but otherwise good as new.

Radial DI
Sep 4th 2014Not much to say about Radial DIs. They work and work well. Appear to be very well made. I have a couple of this particular model and needed another so decided to get another of the same model, since the ones I already have work so well.

Radial ProD2
Jun 16th 2011Twice the great sound! Either stereo or for two instruments and only one direct box. Sounds good with every instrument we have tried. Clean, crisp, and tight with bass even low b string. Guitar mics in stereo with a Tele on an orange amp sound fantastic.
