The Josephson C705 Microphone brings Josephson’s boutique condenser design into a rugged, studio-ready cardioid microphone that is built for vocals, instruments, and engineers who like options.
With its large-diaphragm capsule, smooth extended top end, and controllable proximity effect, the C705 lets you shape tone the old-fashioned way: with placement, angle, distance, and a great performance. The C705 uses a large diameter, center-supported single diaphragm cardioid capsule derived from the Josephson C715, paired with the discrete FET cascode input circuit and symmetrical balanced transformerless output circuit of the C716. The result is a detailed, open studio microphone that captures vocals with presence and body while helping avoid the harshness and sibilance often associated with some large-diaphragm condensers. Its case-hardened steel body, offset grille support structure, internal capsule shock-mounting, and integrated yoke mount make the Josephson C705 Microphone equally comfortable in demanding studio environments and stage applications. Low output impedance also helps it work well with a wide variety of microphone preamps and input stages.
