The Josephson C700S uses three discrete capsule outputs: an omni pressure capsule, a front-facing figure-8 gradient capsule, and a side-facing figure-8 gradient capsule. By recording these signals separately, you can derive mono, stereo, MS, XY, and surround pickup formats in the mix, adjusting image width, directionality, and pattern behavior after the performance has been captured. This makes the C700S a powerful choice for classical recording, room capture, ensembles, sound design, immersive production, and any application where committing to a fixed microphone pattern too early feels like a trap.
