The Solid State Logic UC1 Controller is a hardware plug-in controller like no other - SSL hardware for your SSL software! The UC1 combines classic console ergonomics with the power of SSL plug-ins, for virtual console "in-the-box" audio production experience.

The UC1 is a hardware plug-in controller like no other. Dedicated knob-per-function Channel EQ and Dynamics controls, centre section featuring full Bus Compressor controls and authentic moving-coil gain reduction meter combine to offer the most creative, intuitive, and ultimately effective way of controlling your 360°-enabled SSL channel strip and Bus Compressor plug-ins.

Console ergonomics and workflow
SSL production tools are the benchmark for studio ergonomics and workflow. UC1 draws on decades of analogue and digital console design to develop an intelligent and deeply integrated SSL plug-in control surface that lets you focus on your production goals and not the process. UC1’s layout of encoders, switches and colour groupings offer professional SSL console ergonomics seamlessly integrated with our 360°-enabled channel strip and Bus Compressor plug-ins. Multiple parameters can be controlled simultaneously and precisely, equipping you with a production tool that nurtures muscle memory, provides unmatched sonic flexibility and inspires operator confidence. SSL 360° Plug-in Mixer
At the heart of the UC1 system is the SSL 360° Plug-in Mixer, view and control all of your Channel Strips and Bus Compressors in one place. 360° Plug-in Mixer offers an efficient way of interacting with multiple plug-ins simultaneously, further bridging the gap between console and in-the-box workflow.

SSL sound and workflow
UC1 provides dedicated controls of all key SSL 360°-enabled channel strip plug-in parameters. EQ, Filters, Compressor and Gate/Expander controls offer the same configuration and visual feedback as found on large-format SSL consoles, allowing you to quickly home in on your channel processing sweet spot. SSL plug-ins are the only plug-ins designed by the team of SSL engineers at HQ in Oxford, with exclusive access to the original data sheets and specifications from which the consoles were made.

The SSL Native Bus Compressor and Channel Strip plugins have been available for some time. They’re now controllable with the Solid State Logic UC1 Controller! The UC1 combines classic console ergonomics with the power of SSL’s Native plugins. This allows for a hands-on and outboard experience while staying “in the box”. The plugins sound fantastic. It’s as close as you can get to that SSL sound in a plugin format - because these are made by SSL! With the UC1, you feel connected to the music with every move you make. It looks sleek and very familiar to those who have had the honor of using SSL hardware. One of our favorite features on this controller is the real VU meter for the bus compressor! You also have a beautiful input and output level meter, each with trim pots. The Bus Compressor section has a mix knob which is great for parallel processing. There are also transport controls and a scribble strip/screen that tells you what track you’re on in your DAW. Between these features, routing options, and the ability to store and switch between presets, the UC1 is so more than just a plugin controller. This is something that can literally change your entire workflow!
