The Peluso TR14 Tube Ribbon Microphone brings classic long-ribbon warmth into the modern studio with the added confidence of an active tube gain stage. Smooth, rich, and wonderfully natural, the TR14 captures the vintage ribbon character engineers love while delivering stronger output for long cable runs and less dependence on preamp coloration. Inspired by the early RCA ribbon microphones, the Peluso TR14 uses a thin corrugated aluminum ribbon tensioned between rare earth neodymium magnets. Its figure-8 pattern, generous low end, and silky top end make it a beautiful choice for electric guitars, horns, strings, vocals, percussion, room sounds, and any source that benefits from a more rounded, dimensional presentation. Unlike passive ribbon microphones, the TR14 incorporates a glass tube amplifier stage and custom output transformer for a clean balanced output with added harmonic complexity.
