The Peluso P-28 Tube Microphone is a fixed cardioid small diaphragm tube condenser microphone inspired by the legendary pencil vacuum tube microphones by AKG and Neumann.

The Peluso P-28 Tube Microphone has an extremely low noise floor for modern digital recording. Featuring a warm rich tone, capturing the low frequency detail and high frequency air of the classics. Beautiful on acoustic guitar, drum overheads, piano, voice and more. The P-28 features Peluso's heavy-duty 8-pin screw on cable connector. The large diameter pins in the screw on connector give a tight and secure cable connection designed to perform for a lifetime of use.

The microphone comes as a complete system including: P-28 Microphone in a Wood Box, Power Supply, New-style 8-Pin Screw on Cable Assembly, and a Shock Mount all packed in a Flight Case. Acoustically matched pairs available upon special request. Omni-directional capsules available upon special request.

    bitchin mic, everything a tube mic should be, can't overload, compresses and saturates in a musical and utilitarian way, gets the take, clean with a juicy character for the lead track,

The Peluso P-28 is as stunning sounding a microphone on acoustic guitar as one could really hope for. Match it up with a 1073 style preamp, and you're pretty much on your way. The P28 is somewhat of a hybrid between a KM54 and a C28. But, while the name may allude to maybe being a C28 clone, it is more of it's own thing - but definitely right in the same vein as these two legendary coveted microphones. With a somewhat more excited sounding upper-high-frequency response (but without sounding 'clicky') and a robust low end. The mid-range is slightly scooped, while the upper mids are slightly more forward and pronounced. The Peluso P28 is definitely the mic for folks disenchanted with something like your typical modern-day transformerless solid-state small diaphragm condenser mic (boy, that's a mouthful!). Expect dimension and fullness. Great for lovers of great analog sound and a nice antidote to the cold sterility of digital recording without losing the clarity of a condenser capsule.
