U47 sound without having breaking the bank!
Jan 12th 2010This tube condenser mic is the real deal! Put this guy anywhere near your sound source and you will fall in love. It's got 9 different pick up patterns to choose from, comes with a super heavy duty case and is housed in a solid u47-type tube. It sounds really good on vocals, great as a mono piano mic, and awesome as a drum overhead (it gets a crystal clear ride cymbal, the punch of the toms, the crack of the snare, and provides a really nice ambience to compliment your other drum mics) . It's got a hot signal so you dont have to crank your preamp and get a lot of noise from the room. I can't think of another mic in this price range that sounds so good.
