The Peluso 2247 LE Tube Microphone is a large diaphragm condenser microphone inspired by and styled after the Neumann U-47, using an individually selected German steel tube.

The Peluso 2247 LE Tube Microphone is equipped with a vintage German 'EF' style steel tube manufactured between the 1940s and the '60s. These vintage tubes are thoroughly tested and fully covered by Peluso's 3-year warranty. With nearly identical specifications, this tube provides the same sonic qualities as the original U-47's VF14 tube. This vintage tube provides the Peluso 22 47 Limited Edition with the true vintage sound connoisseurs crave. Professional engineers enjoy great success with the 22 47 LE for a wide range of applications from male and female vocals, acoustic guitar to tenor sax. There are countless applications for this versatile microphone. The "47" is known for its clear sound while capturing low frequency nuances with smooth mid range and balanced high end. Connoisseurs will be proud to have a genuine vintage tube paired with the highest quality brand new capsule and components built to the specifications of the vintage equipment.

The Peluso 2247 LE Tube Microphone has the additional feature of 9 polar patterns, controlled from the power supply. It captures the low frequency nuances of the original U-47 with smooth mids and balanced highs.

U47 sound without having breaking the bank!
    Jesse Clark

This tube condenser mic is the real deal! Put this guy anywhere near your sound source and you will fall in love. It's got 9 different pick up patterns to choose from, comes with a super heavy duty case and is housed in a solid u47-type tube. It sounds really good on vocals, great as a mono piano mic, and awesome as a drum overhead (it gets a crystal clear ride cymbal, the punch of the toms, the crack of the snare, and provides a really nice ambience to compliment your other drum mics) . It's got a hot signal so you dont have to crank your preamp and get a lot of noise from the room. I can't think of another mic in this price range that sounds so good.

What We Think

The Peluso 2247 LE is a sort-of glorious "Mr. Natural" - Neutral but not certainly not boring. The 2247 LE is a full-sounding microphone from top to bottom which is at home on instruments . Peluso does not tune their 2247 in reference to 50 year old U-47's, but rather more like the original sound of the M7 capsule. Don't expect a dark top like some other 47 clones. But the mid-range is smooth and full sounding; no scooped sound here. Out of Peluso's offerings, the 2247 is the greatest go-to-mic you could ask for when seeking to 'feature' a vocal or instrument with some dimensional richness. The "LE" features the German-made EF Stahlröhren (Steel Tube) Telefunken, as well as surgical-grade connectors and improved cabling for the best, most-reliable electrical transfer of power and audio to and from the microphone body and the power supply. However, those looking to get virtually the same sound can turn to the "SE" version which utilizes the American Style 5693 tube which is lower cost and more readily available, and the 'XLR-style' multi-pin cables.
