Inspired by the legendary Altec/EMI RS124 compressor, this French-crafted masterpiece delivers that unmistakably smooth, creamy compression that defined the sound of countless iconic recordings. Whether on vocals, bass, or acoustic instruments, the VM-124 adds body, cohesion, and vintage tone character that feels instantly musical. Hand-built in Brittany, France, by the artisans at Kerwax, the VM-124 combines traditional tube craftsmanship with thoughtful modern refinements. Its fully balanced design and UTM transformers on the input and output stages ensure pristine signal integrity, while the tube stage itself can be used independently for rich analog coloration even with compression bypassed. With stepped attack, release, and output controls, recall and precision are effortless. The VM-124 captures the heart of vintage compression in a beautifully simple and sonically powerful package.
