The The IGS RB500ME 500-Series Mastering EQ is a stereo passive equalizer packed into a double 500-series module. This beast is equipped with transformer balanced inputs (Carnhill) and outputs (Edcor) as well as a class-A driver circuit. Of course the entire filtering section is passive and it mirrors analogue equalizers from the 60s. There is separate frequency selector for low cut and boost sections. Top quality potentiometers and ELMA switches were used to achieve outstanding performance.

What We Think
The IGS RB500ME 500-Series Mastering EQ takes the already great Rubber Bands 500 EQ another step to giving users just what they've always wanted; a STEREO Pultec-style EQ for mix bus and mastering duties... but with a single set of controls! And boy does this unit deliver.
Wideband equalizers such as the classic Pultec are favored for more musical adjustments across the mix bus, but also for vocals, acoustic guitars, subgroups, bass. And the Pultec was even favored for individual drum duties for the interesting anomalies which occur when you increase both the boost AND cut simultaneously on a particular frequency, resulting in a very focused bump; a favorite for kick drums. But nothing puts the warmth and the sheen on a mix quite like a pair of Pultecs. But the trouble was always finding a pair of Pultecs which not only sounded the same, but behaved the same. Now you don't need to worry about that. The IGS RB500ME makes this a non-issue. Much like the stereo version of a Pultec plugin, you can just adjust one set of controls. But totally unlike the plugin, there is nothing quite like the beyond-high-resolution realism of a real analog equalizer at work on your mix. And the IGS RB500ME delivers for the 500-series devotee.
IGS makes serious gear - seriously good gear! This is all very robust build quality with a sound quality to match. The best part is that the pricing is very reasonable for the value that you receive. IGS, as a relatively new line, is certainly delivering and is among some of our favorite new gear inspired by classic designs. Not just because Igor's adaptations are so accurate (which they are), but because of the total package.
