    Great product, Disappointing service...

Posted by Prithvi G on Feb 3rd 2019

Started my musical journey with the Scarlett, and it definitely was a step in the right direction. I use a lot of cpu-heavy VST plugins and the playback has been fairly good for an entry-level interface. The unit worked well while it did but I wasn't happy with Focusrite's service when I ran into a power supply issue within the 1st year. Product was under warranty but Focusrite still wanted me to pay about $80 tech fee + $30 shipping to get it repaired (which was ridiculous considering I could get a new one for an extra $40). Maybe I got unlucky with a faulty unit but I'd still recommend the product for entry-level musicians dabbling with music production.

Scarlett 2i2- Reliable and Easy to Use

Posted by Sara Regan on Aug 29th 2018

This little guy was my first interface and I have zero regrets. Both inputs are 1/4" or XLR friendly and you've got everything you need right in front of you in a nice, clean, confined little package. It's also travel friendly and seems (so far) indestructible. I love it and totally recommend it to someone who's looking for a trustworthy but affordable interface!

    Great usb recording interface

Posted by Anonymous on Aug 6th 2014

With the direct monitor button I can hear the audio going in through the mic without any delay before it goes into the pc. This is a must when recording vocals. Most audio interfaces sold do not have this option. I had to sell a previous interface after trying this one out. Also with the low latency I can add effects through the pc and still not be thrown off by delay as it goes through the pc and back to the headphones.

    great box--crazy registration

No complaints about the box. The software registration is like something out of a sitcom.

Great for travel or 2nd laptop

Posted by Balisani on Apr 27th 2012

The Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 is my 4th audio interface. I've already got a Fireface 800 and a Soundscape (iBox8 XLR) for two desktops and a (v1) Duet for my old MacBookPro that I've now retired (i.e., it stays in the studio when I travel). I was looking for a small, portable USB interface with as good, or better, Mic Preamps that was not as expensive as the Duet v2.
This little interface fits the bill on all counts. It's a little bulky (like a fat paperback novel) but fits ok in my carry-on. It's super simple to install (load the disc to install the drivers) and operate. I use Logic Pro 9 and DSP-Quattro as my DAW and Editor, and I've had no issues with stability (or use).
The sound quality is subjectively good, and by that I mean I would have howled to the moon had I had this interface in the 90s. Now, most of us expect a lot of bang for our buck, and usually get it, though I would venture to say this interface surpassed my expectations. Long term keeper.
