Designed as a true linked stereo EQ, the xfilter 500 combines four flexible active bands with switchable filter modes, selectable Q characteristics, and elysia's distinctive Passive Massage circuit. From subtle mix-bus sweetening to reshaping individual tracks and stereo stems, it delivers the kind of broad, confident adjustments that make you want to reach for hardware instead of another plug-in. Built around a Class-A audio path, the xfilter 500 is designed for clean, transparent processing with plenty of punch and an accurate stereo image. The outer bands normally operate as high and low shelves but can be independently converted into resonant high-pass and low-pass filters. Two parametric mid bands provide selectable wide or narrow Q characteristics, allowing smooth tonal shaping or more focused corrections while maintaining the musical response elysia intended. One of the xfilter 500's more distinctive tools is Passive Massage, a switchable passive LC filter network that adds a polished character to the upper frequencies. Rather than simply boosting the entire top end, this circuit introduces a gentle resonance around 12 kHz before beginning to roll off above 17 kHz, helping add openness and sheen without making the signal excessively bright. Computer-selected stepped potentiometers and low-tolerance components help maintain accurate tracking between the left and right channels, making the xfilter 500 equally comfortable across stereo instruments, buses, mixes, and mastering chains.
