Inspired by one of the most influential microphone preamp and EQ designs in recording history, the Behringer 1273 combines vintage-minded circuitry with practical controls for contemporary production. Each channel accommodates microphone, line, and high-impedance instrument signals, while an electronically controlled resistor-stepped gain switch makes precise settings easy to establish and recall. A selectable Tone function changes the microphone input transformer impedance, giving you another way to optimize the interaction between the preamp and different microphones, including dynamic and ribbon designs. Each channel also includes a flexible 3-band equalizer with selectable low-, mid-, and high-frequency points, along with an 18 dB/octave high-pass filter for cleaning up unwanted low-frequency energy. Independent output level controls make it possible to push the preamp gain for additional harmonic character while controlling the level sent to your recorder or interface.
