The Avantone MixCubes Passive Mini-Reference Monitor give engineers a revealing alternate perspective on a mix, helping expose balance problems that can hide on full-range studio monitors. This version features a sleek black finish.

This compact passive reference monitor focus attention on the critical midrange and emulate the limited-bandwidth playback systems your music encounters in the real world, including car stereos, televisions, computers, wireless speakers, and other everyday listening devices. When a mix holds together on MixCubes, you can feel much more confident about how it will translate outside the studio. Designed as a modern evolution of the classic single-driver studio cube, the MixCubes Passive use a proprietary 5.25-inch driver housed in a dense, sealed MDF enclosure. The custom paper cone incorporates New Zealand pulp and mica fibers for a lightweight, rigid structure, while the cast aluminum frame and carefully engineered motor assembly are designed for smooth, open, and controlled reproduction. With no crossover network between the amplifier and full-range driver, the MixCubes provide a direct monitoring path that keeps the spotlight firmly on the frequencies where vocals, guitars, keyboards, and many other essential mix elements live. The compact 6.5-inch cube cabinets are easy to integrate alongside your primary studio monitors, while a 7mm neoprene base helps provide isolation and prevent movement on a desktop or meter bridge. A recessed 5/8"-27 mic stand mount also provides flexible placement when desktop space is limited. Because these are passive monitors, they require an external power amplifier, giving engineers the freedom to integrate the MixCubes into an existing monitoring system with the amplifier of their choice.

    better than my ns10s
    John Bourke

I bought some NS10s because well as you know everyone has them. But I tend to use the mix cube when wanting to know how mixes will translate on smaller speakers. I'm loving the way they pair with my ATCs. Great set up.
