The APEX APP22 Dual Phantom Power Supply is designed to provide 48V power to condenser microphones used in stereo recording applications. As more and more systems are using multiple condenser microphones, multiple phantom powered D.I.s and accessories, the need for additional phantom power sources becomes evident. In situations where stereo direct recording is happening with two condenser source microphones, the obvious solution is a dual-channel power supply. The APEX APP22 is designed to specifically fill that need.
Different condenser microphones specify different amounts of required phantom power. As a rule these ratings can range from 48 volts all the way down to 9 volts. Fortunately there is some flexibility in terms of matching phantom voltage to your mic. A rough rule of thumb would be "more is better". For example, a 24-volt condenser mic will run perfectly on 48 volts. In fact mics rated at as little as 9 volts can often operate on 48 volts, but you might want to check with the manufacturer first. Conversely, a mic will generally perform best driven by not less than its rated voltage so, for a 48V mic, you would obtain best results with 48 volts of phantom power.

Phantom Power unit
Nov 26th 2012While working on a very high profile project, I found I needed a phantom power unit to solve a microphone problem. I found a particular model on the FEA website and placed my order for overnight shipping. I was called a few hours later to be told the unit was not in stock. Having an indication of the stock levels would be helpful on your website guys. The salesman told me they had a similar unit in stock and he went ahead and changed my order accordingly. Unfortunately, I was not able to get the unit until a few days later since my order was placed after their overnight shipping time. I will say that the unit arrived when they said and was the perfect solution to my problem. Luckily I was able to get it installed before the customer arrived.The service at this company is exxcellent and the products are very good. I would buy from them again but I would do the transaction on the phone to be sure of availability since the website might be a bit misleading.
