The Yamaha HS8S Powered Subwoofer with 8-inch bass-reflex design delivers precise low frequencies down to 22Hz, ensuring that you capture every detail of your recordings. It boasts a robust 150W amplifier, specifically engineered for low frequencies, making the HS8S perfect match for Yamaha's HS series full-range monitors. Compact and affordable, it is an excellent choice for extended-range monitoring in your studio.
The Yamaha HS8S Powered Subwoofer offers an impressive 150W of output power and features an eight-inch cone woofer that can produce frequencies as low as 22Hz. Its variable low and high cut filters, ranging from 80 to 120Hz, offer flexibility in sound customization. Connecting to the Yamaha HS8S is a breeze with its stereo XLR or 1/4" TRS inputs, and it also includes stereo XLR extension sub outputs. To enhance sound accuracy, the Yamaha HS8S subwoofer is designed with a Low Resonance Enclosure, constructed with dense MDF and a damped acoustic response. Additionally, a traditional three-way mitered-joint technique anchors the corners of the enclosure for increased durability and reduced resonance that can impact overall sound.
Yamaha's engineers have incorporated noise reduction technology into the Yamaha HS8S Powered Subwoofer's design. By analyzing a visual representation of sound, they've developed a port design that reduces unwanted noise up to 6dB, ensuring clarity in overall sound. The Yamaha HS8S Subwoofer's controls include a HIGH CUT function that adjusts the cutoff frequency of subwoofer output high-frequency attenuation between 80Hz and 120Hz. The PHASE switch allows for adjustment of the subwoofer output's phase, while the LOW CUT switch and controls attenuate low frequencies for output between 80Hz and 120Hz. The subwoofer includes XLR and TRS phone jack inputs and XLR outputs for L and R, as well as an EXT SUB out.

A must have pair with the HS5s
Jan 15th 2024The HS8S completely changed the way I mix and master using the diminutive HS5s. Even in a small studio space, the bass response is clear and tight - never muddy or boomy. The onboard controls for Low Cut, High Cut, and Phase make dialing in the perfect sound for your room quick and painless. Overall, the build quality is great and the setup was seamless.

Perfect five just isn't believable
Dec 6th 2019Clearest Bass no sweetner, completes frequency clarity. I would give it five stars but the last star is what you push through it, last star is earned by u the muse. It can handle anything you throw at it just like it's counterparts, no bullshit can hide here. The perfect void for sub 120 frequencies no butter, no bullshit, no fake, clear as acetate.

Yamaha HS8S
Nov 17th 2014The complement subwoofer for Yamaha HS8 studio monitors. HS8S does bring up very clearly the low frequencies which otherwise might be more difficult to hear with just the desk speakers. Excellent monitors for the price, quick and precise service from FrontEnd Audio.

beautiful sub-bass
Aug 3rd 2014Matches beautifully both aesthetically and acoustically with the HS8 monitors. Very fast sub, goes down in to the 20's for sure, powerfully in to the 30's. I couldn't be happier with it.
