The Universal Audio Volt 1 Gen 2 USB Audio Interface gives musicians, singer-songwriters, podcasters, and content creators an easy way to capture polished, studio-quality sound wherever inspiration strikes.
With professional 32-bit / 192 kHz conversion, a 60 dB Tone Shaping Preamp with three distinct analog-inspired character modes, a dedicated Hi-Z instrument input, and built-in loopback, Volt 1 Gen 2 packs a surprising amount of recording power into a compact, bus-powered interface. Add in Universal Audio's premium UAD software collection and LUNA Digital Audio Workstation, and you have a complete creative setup that's ready to record right out of the box. At the heart of Volt 1 Gen 2 is UA's Tone Shaping Preamp, designed to give recordings character before you ever reach for a plug-in. Choose Warmth for rich tube-inspired color, Focus for the punch and presence associated with classic American solid-state consoles, or Shine for the open top end and clarity of British Class-A circuitry. The mic/line input provides up to 60 dB of gain and switchable 48V phantom power, while the separate front-panel Hi-Z input lets you capture an instrument and microphone simultaneously. Whether you're tracking vocals and acoustic guitar, recording a direct electric guitar, producing voiceovers, or building songs one part at a time, Volt 1 Gen 2 keeps the workflow straightforward without sacrificing sound quality. Professional 32-bit / 192 kHz A/D and D/A conversion preserves the detail and dynamics of your performance, while high-quality monitor and headphone outputs provide clear, confident playback. Built-in loopback makes the Volt 1 Gen 2 equally useful as a podcasting or livestreaming audio interface, allowing live inputs and computer audio to be combined for broadcasts and other content. USB bus power and class-compliant operation make mobile recording simple with Mac, Windows, iPad, and iPhone, while the included UAD Volt Studio Bundle, LUNA, virtual instruments, guitar amps, effects, and third-party production software give you plenty of tools to take a project from the first recording through the final mix.
