The Standard Audio Level-Or MK2 retains the sound and vibe of the original, but includes improvements and features suggested by users over the years. If you loved the original - you'll be thrilled with the new MK2 version!

The Standard Audio Level-Or MK2 500-Series Limiter takes the original concept of the original Level-Or to a new level with improved performance and added features. The Level-Or Limiter has always been an extremely versatile studio tool and after over 10 years of production, Standard Audio wanted to take the feedback from thousands of satisfied users and make it even better - giving life to the MK2 version. For those not familiar with the original Level-Or, it is an aggressive JFET limiter and harmonic distortion generator inspired by the SHURE Level-Loc PA limiter from the 60s and 70s. Level-Or
    Adam Edgemont

If you're looking that'll add character or vibe to source material, this is definitely it. Love this on bass guitar on level mode, either medium or slow settings, low-ish input and high output. I like that even better than plugins such as a UA 1176 or equivalent. Also works on electric or acoustic guitars when you want to add some grit to the signal. Level mode can be fairly subtle at low settings, Crunch on the other hand is quite apparent but this is a great mixing too especially for adding that extra character.
