Built as the successor to the renowned KH 310 A, the KH 310 II preserves the controlled low end, exceptional midrange detail, and precise imaging engineers depend on while adding a new DSP architecture, MA 1 Automatic Monitor Alignment compatibility, digital connectivity, increased amplifier power, lower distortion, and 5 dB more maximum SPL. For critical mixing, mastering, broadcast, post-production, and immersive audio work where hearing the truth matters more than hearing something flattering, the KH 310 II is an exceptionally revealing monitoring tool. Neumann retained the KH 310's proven horizontal, sealed-cabinet architecture while extensively re-engineering what happens inside it. A newly developed ELFF woofer provides improved performance at high excursion, while the celebrated 3-inch soft-dome midrange driver delivers the vocal definition and midband intelligibility that helped make the original KH 310 a studio standard. Together with a 1-inch tweeter and tightly controlled production tolerances, the KH 310 II achieves ±0.6 dB linearity from 100 Hz to 10 kHz for highly consistent imaging and dependable tonal judgment. The sealed enclosure also provides low group delay and excellent transient behavior, making bass information easier to evaluate without the overhang often associated with reflex designs. The KH 310 II's new DSP platform brings the monitor fully into Neumann's modern monitoring ecosystem. Compatibility with MA 1 Automatic Monitor Alignment allows frequency and phase response to be optimized for the listening environment, while Ethernet control supports configuration and alignment from the MA 1 software. Both balanced analog XLR and 75-ohm BNC AES3id digital connections are provided, making the KH 310 II equally comfortable in traditional analog studios and modern digital monitoring systems. Its familiar cabinet dimensions also make it straightforward to integrate into installations originally designed around the KH 310.
