The Lynx Aurora (n) was designed to accommodate today’s needs as well as future requirements for audio professionals. Lynx’s hallmark sonic transparency is why Lynx converters are being used in the most mission-critical audio applications and in the world’s finest recording facilities. Lynx converters have been specified for their uncanny ability to convert signals without adding any artifacts or color. And while some manufacturers use multiple converters on a single chip, each channel pair on the Lynx has its own dedicated conversion device. This has many sonic advantages by significantly reducing crosstalk and distortion while increasing dynamic range and performance. Additionally, Lynx’s new SynchroLock 2 high-performance sample clock technology provides a whopping 300,000:1 reduction in jitter, 5 second lock time and absolute accuracy. Word clock I/O provides one input and three outputs on BNC connectors. The Aurora (n) also features a unique micro SD player and recorder capable of up to 32 channels of direct recording and playback designed for confidence and field playback and recording. In addition, two audiophile grade headphone outputs with independent volume control are on every unit. A 480x128 TFT LCD display provides access to all levels and functions.

Lynx Aurora (n) 16 TB
Sep 14th 2025I upgraded from the previous generation of Lynx conversion and was unsure how much of an improvement the Aurora (n) would be. The previous generation Aurora 8 was a nice improvement over the Apogee Rosetta that I had in terms of a sense of clarity when stacking tracks across an entire production, it felt much more transparent and perhaps a bit better on transient information too. I wasn’t sure how much improvement to expect with the Aurora(n) but knew the Lynx reputation wouldn’t let me down. The Aurora (n) has noticeably improved clarity on the top end, even greater pinpoint sharpness on transient information and I feel like the imaging on my Amphion One18’s really entered the next level of 3 dimensional depth! It feels like you can really hear harmonic details in a dense mix and better separation across the frequency spectrum. Which is great as it allows for making more nuanced moves to generate cohesion in a mix. Add to that, I have total confidence that my mixes won’t suffer when leaving the digital domain and going back in via hardware inserts, no matter how many times I choose to route tracks that way. Overall I feel the Lynx Aurora (n) is an extremely worthwhile upgrade to conversion giving total piece of mind that there’s almost nothing else out there that can beat it.

The back bone of my studio
Nov 12th 2021I recently upgraded my studio with Lynx Aurora [n]'s for summing and hardware inserts of my beloved analog gear. The Aurora does a wonderful job of not getting in the way due to its transparency. Additionally, it's modular nature allows for future upgraded, which is a huge perk!
