The Lewitt LCT 441 Flex Multi-Pattern Microphone is a multi-pattern condenser microphone with a 1-inch capsule and switchable polar-pattern system.
These polar patterns go beyond the traditional omnidirectional, figure-8, and cardioid offerings to give you eight options in total. Not only do you get the aforementioned patterns, but you're also able to switch among reverse cardioid, wide cardioid, reverse wide cardioid, supercardioid, and reverse supercardioid. The multitude of patterns offered in the LCT 441 Flex facilitates both expeditious employment and experimentation in the studio context.
Whether you use these patterns to mitigate the need for physical re-positioning between instruments, to alter the frequency response, to combat/emphasize the proximity effect, or to achieve an unconventional sound, you'll find this microphone useful in recording all sorts of instruments. Indeed, vocals, acoustic instruments, guitar amps, and percussion can all be captured. Use the left and right buttons provided on the microphone to choose among the patterns, then hold any key down for two seconds to lock the polar pattern in place. Conversely, you can press the right button for five seconds to select a pattern randomly, which might aid in creative decision making.
The microphone, which runs off 48V phantom power, comes with a shock mount to reduce unwanted structure-borne noise. Also included is a magnetic pop filter that integrates with the design of the microphone to minimize plosives and hiss without noticeable effects on the rest of the frequency pickup. You also get a foam windscreen and a cushioned leatherette bag.

Performance and Multiple Features
Oct 3rd 2025This is one of the most flexible mics. The sound quality is good and clean. The build is nice. My favorite part are the different polar patters. I use the polar functions probably more untypical than other musicians will for vocals. I'll do the leads with the cardioid or wide-cardioid and switch for the double-ups. Then for the ad-libs I use another polar patter to give different depth. It's less panning later during the mix-down. Tracking different artist I liked it better on vocalist with mid-low to mid vocal registers (Mezzo-Soprano & Baritone). Also, it handled folly sounds quite well.
