The Drawmer FC-1 500-Series FET Compressor packs the control, character, and creative flexibility of a full-size Drawmer dynamics processor into a single 500-Series slot.
Its fast FET compression delivers the punch and immediacy needed to bring drums forward, steady a vocal, tighten bass, or add energy to an entire mix, while BIG, AIR, and CRUSH modes provide additional ways to shape the sound without complicating the workflow. The FC-1 offers a complete set of dynamics controls, including adjustable threshold, ratio, attack, release, input gain, and output gain. A Wet/Dry Mix control makes parallel compression easy to dial in directly from the front panel, and each rotary control uses a 21-position detented potentiometer for accurate adjustment and reliable session recall. PGM mode introduces a second, slower release characteristic that responds to program material above the threshold, helping reduce pumping and other unnatural artifacts when heavier compression is applied. Drawmer has also equipped the FC-1 with several tone-shaping features derived from its studio processors. BIG mode reduces the sidechain's sensitivity to low frequencies, allowing bass content to retain its weight while minimizing unwanted pumping. AIR mode helps preserve high-frequency openness and detail, keeping vocals, acoustic instruments, and cymbals clear without adding harshness. Engaging CRUSH introduces harmonic richness and analog-style saturation, with the intensity responding to the input level for sounds ranging from subtle warmth to more obvious coloration. Two FC-1 modules installed in adjacent slots can also be linked through a compatible 500-Series chassis for coordinated stereo compression.
