Whether you are recording bass, guitar, keyboards, drum machines, or sending digital tracks through analog tubes for added warmth, the HDI-1 delivers a full, natural sound without sacrificing detail or transient response. Designed around Demeter’s tube-driven, ultra-high-impedance input stage, the HDI-1 presents instrument pickups with a 27-megohm load to minimize loading and preserve their natural harmonic character. Each independent channel provides its own 1/4-inch input, ground lift, phase reverse, unity-gain operation, and tube-driven boost mode. The continuously variable level control makes it easy to add up to 20 dB of gain when working with lower-output sources. The HDI-1 is equally useful as a stereo tube DI and a line-level processor. Its balanced outputs can feed recording equipment directly, while the front-panel low-impedance tube-buffered outputs can drive amplifiers, effects, or long cable runs. A fully regulated internal power supply helps maintain quiet operation while supplying the high voltage required for proper tube performance. Hand-built in the USA, the Demeter HDI-1 is a versatile analog front end for recording studios, live rigs, and hybrid mixing setups.
