The Chandler Limited RS124 Compressor brings the unmistakable sound of Abbey Road era diode bridge compression into modern studios with the authority, tone, and musicality that made the original EMI units legendary.
Designed for engineers who want unmistakable character over sterile precision, the RS124 delivers thick low end, forward mids, and a smooth, program-dependent response that flatters vocals, bass, drums, and full mixes alike. Built around a faithful recreation of the original EMI RS124 circuit, this mono, line-level compressor uses a diode bridge topology that reacts musically rather than mathematically. The result is compression that feels alive—enhancing density, depth, and harmonic richness without ever sounding constrained. Whether used gently for tone shaping or pushed hard for attitude, the RS124 excels at adding weight and emotion to tracks that need to stand out. The standard RS124 features continuously variable controls that invite hands-on experimentation. It’s an ideal choice for tracking and creative mixing, where subtle control movements can dramatically shape feel and groove. Like all Chandler Limited designs, the RS124 is built to uncompromising standards, combining vintage inspiration with modern reliability.

The Magic of the 60s
Dec 1st 2023This is probably my favorite compressor of all time. It can do wonders to a signal and still leave it sounding unadulterated. Turn the Superfuse knob, and get a more aggressive sound like an RS-660, which I also own. I've got a lot of nice compressors (RS-660, API2500, SSL G-Comp), but a pair of RS-124s is probably the best, especially for tracking instruments acoustically.

Chandler RS124
Dec 26th 2022This thing is amazing! It’s quickly becoming my favorite compressor. It’s so smooth and nice on vocal, bass and what you’d normally expect a Vari Mu to excel at, then you flip it into superfuse mode and it works on everything else as well. My only problem is that now I want a second and they are pretty expensive! I highly recommend this comp, if you’re on the fence just go for it, you will not regret it.
