Let's take a look at the JZ Microphones' Black Hole Series!  JZ Microphones has grown tremendously in popularity over the past few years. Their V Series microphones are modern takes of iconic vintage microphones. Some of our favorites from the V series of microphones are the V67 Microphone and the V47 Microphone. The Black Hole series is its own beast. The Black Hole microphones are JZ's own modern designs, and offer amazing clarity in the top-end. The Black Hole series is comprised of two models: the JZ Microphones BH-2 Black Hole Microphone and the JZ Microphones BH-1S Black Hole Microphone. 

The presence you get from a Black Hole microphone allows you to simply record a vocal and drop it into the mix with ease. Rather than adding top-end after like we often have to do. Though the microphone has a nice and present top-end, it remains solid and full in the low-end and midrange. These reasons are why engineers all over the world love the JZ Black Hole Microphones and often choose it over the much more expensive microphones in their mic locker. 

What the differences are between the  JZ Microphones BH-1S Black Hole Microphone and the JZ Microphones BH-2 Black Hole Microphone? Other than the different colored JZ badges on the front of the mics, there are only two differences. The BH-2 has a fixed cardioid polar pattern which cannot be changed. The BH-1S has a polar pattern switch that allows you to choose between cardioid, omni-directional, and figure-8. The other difference is that the BH-1S has a PAD switch that allows you to choose between minus 10 and minus 20 dB. The polar pattern and PAD switches on the BH-1S make it a very versatile microphone. Everything else about the two mics are identical. Whether you choose the BH-1S or the BH-2, we know a JZ Black Hole microphone would be an awesome addition to your mic locker.
