Solid State Logic (SSL) expands its ORIGIN range with the all new Solid State Logic ORIGIN 16 Console. The ORIGIN 16 has the same features, intelligent hybrid workflow and signature SSL console sound as its larger 32 channel brother. Its smaller form factor makes it ideal for smaller rooms, project studios and schools. With ORIGIN 16, SSL aims to bring the dream of owning a large-format, SSL console to a wider range of artists, engineers and producers who desire the legendary sound, features and workflow of SSL. Sharing the same center section as the Solid State Logic Origin Console, ORIGIN 16 draws on traditional in-line consoles for inspiration, while leveraging SSL's latest cutting-edge analog design.

ORIGIN 16's simple signal flow and layout make it easy to use, and its direct outputs, fully balanced architecture and precise meters make it ready for high quality converters and the most demanding productions. Its innovative modular center section allows the ORIGIN 16 to be used as a tracking console and can accomodate 19” rack gear or 500-series modules. Also, for more of a digital/analog hybrid workflow, the ORGIN 16 can be used with screens and controllers such as the SSL UF8. With its ultra-low power consumption and innovative power-saving features, the ORIGIN 16 makes it much more affordable to operate for smaller rooms and project studios that may have been concerned with the cost of operation of larger consoles in the past.

But enough about its size and modern features, how does it sound?! Well, its PureDrive microphone preamps provide a wide sonic palette that can be as clean as you want them to be, or driven for a warmer, more harmonically rich tone using the 'Drive' function. It also comes equipped with the classic E-Series '242' EQ and SSL G Bus Compressor with sidecahin access and HP filter making the ORIGIN 16 ideal for mixing and summing and sounding as legendary as ever.
