Dave Hill Designs – New and Innovative Designs with New Twists from the mind of the famed Crane Song designer

The name DAVE HILL DESIGNS immediately rings a bell for any gear aficionado. Dave Hill is famous for his CRANE SONG brand of uber-boutique studio gear that employs extremely purist and advanced approaches to audio path while also giving the ability to dial varying degrees and orders (Even & Odd /2nd & 3rd) of harmonic content (sonically pleasing distortions) back into the audio. Devices such as the Crane Song HEDD-192 A/D D/A Converter and the Crane Song AVOCET IIA Stereo Monitor Controller are favorites and are regularly found in many high-end studios the world over.

Dave Hill Designs takes things in a bit of a different direction for Dave Hill. While there is much in common here, the primary difference is one of approach to achieving a wide array of tonal coloration capabilities. Names for controls such as SPEED, EVEN/ODD, VCA COLOR, and DYNAMIC COLOR are what we would assume to find in a variety of digital plug-ins. However, we find them at work in the analog domain in the Dave Hill Designs Europa 1 Microphone Preamp and the Dave Hill Designs Titan Compressor. Unique design characteristics in the audio path as well as the DSP in the side-chain circuit (in the Dave Hill Designs Titan Compressor) deliver tonal results simply not possible in any other unit. But at the very core of the design is purity and the soul of that purity.

If you're looking for excellent, but uniquely flexible audio microphone preamps and compressors for your studio, then the Dave Hill Designs Europa 1 Microphone Preamp and the Dave Hill Designs Titan Compressor should be at or near the top of your list for consideration.
