Analog Mojo with the Cranborne Audio Camden EC1 and EC2 Preamp

The Cranborne Audio Camden EC2 Preamp and the Cranborne Audio Camden EC1 Preamp are loaded with tons of unique features that set them apart from other preamps on the market. The "Mojo" feature provides two emulations 'Thump' and 'Cream'. Cream provides a vintage, silk to grit tone and 'Thump' has more of a ribbon mic tone. Both are highly useful in different capacities. Now, add in the fact that this pre processes Mic, Line, and Instrument level, making the Mojo even more useful. So, right there you have a cool device. But, with the two headphone outputs which allow for separate cue mixes, this can sit right beside the artist so they can easily adjust gain and Mojo to taste. Beyond that, add in the proprietary "CAST" system which allows for easy daisy chaining and expansion on the CAST network over CAT5 cables, and the EC2 interfaces with Cranborne's 500 series racks and more! Plus, you get a super clean and hifi preamp at the foundation of it all. All of this makes the EC2 and EC1 preamps unique, powerful and cool!

Camden EC2 Preamp

The Camden EC2 is a super versatile 2-channel microphone preamp. It’s essentially a rackmount, two-channel version of the Camden preamp we all love from Cranborne! These preamps are very clean with plenty of gain and for each channel, you have two nice color/saturation options: Thump and Cream. With the variable MOJO control knob, you’re able to control how much of that analog saturation or “Mojo” you’d like per channel. You’re able to turn Mojo off completely too if you’d rather record without any coloration. Each channel also have a great sounding instrument DI. There are two headphone amps on the unit too. This is a great option for singer songwriters looking to record live vocal and guitar performances or any dual micing application where you want each mic to have a little extra tonal variation. It’d also be great in your mastering chain to get some analog character into your mix!

Camden EC1 Preamp

The Camden EC1 is a super versatile microphone preamp. It’s essentially a desktop version of the Camden 500-series preamp we all love from Cranborne! They’ve added a nice headphone amp to the unit too. These preamps are very clean with plenty of gain. You also have two nice color/saturation options: Thump and Cream. With the variable MOJO control knob, you’re able to control how much of that analog saturation or “Mojo” you’d like. You’re able to turn Mojo off completely too if you’d rather record without any coloration. If you only have one microphone or you’re only going to have one microphone preamp, this is a really nice option to consider. It’s also a great sounding instrument DI and with the line input, it can be a great way to get some analog character into your mix!
