The Audient Horizon 8P Audio Interface brings a complete console-quality tracking front end into a single rack space, combining eight Audient mic preamps, AURA Control variable impedance, exceptional 32-bit conversion, and ultra-low-latency Thunderbolt performance.
Built for producers, engineers, and professional studios that need pristine capture with genuine analog character, the Horizon 8P delivers 75 dB of clean gain, extensive digital expansion, flexible monitoring, and the connectivity needed to anchor a serious recording or hybrid mixing setup. At the heart of the Horizon 8P are eight Audient Console Preamps based on David Dearden's circuit design from the ASP8024-HE console. Each preamp provides 75 dB of clean, low-noise gain along with Smartgain and digital recall, making it easy to move quickly through demanding recording sessions. AURA Control takes the analog front end even further with hardware-based variable impedance and three selectable voicings. High, mid, and low impedance settings allow you to change how ribbon, dynamic, and condenser microphones interact with the preamp, giving you another creative tool for shaping the sound right at the source. The Horizon 8P is equally comfortable at the center of a modern hybrid studio. Eight line inputs and outputs over DB25 provide straightforward integration with analog compressors, equalizers, and other outboard gear, while dual ADAT I/O adds up to 16 channels of digital expansion. Its 32-bit, 192 kHz conversion delivers a stated 133 dB dynamic range, and round-trip latency can reach just 0.99 ms at 192 kHz with a 64-sample buffer, allowing native plug-in monitoring with remarkably little delay. Monitoring and routing are handled through a combination of dedicated hardware controls and Audient's Horizon Control software. Dual speaker outputs make A/B monitoring simple, two headphone outputs accommodate performers and engineers, and onboard controls provide mono, polarity, dim, talkback, and reference-level functions. Horizon Control adds a virtual patch bay, customizable monitoring, comfort reverb, and four cue mixes for streamlined session management. For larger systems, up to four Horizon units can be daisy-chained on a single driver for a maximum system size of 200 x 200 I/O.
