All-brass Capsule Created By Warm
The LK12-B-60v is an all-brass, edge-terminated capsule that captures all the smoothness, rich top end, and other sonic qualities of the original CK-12 capsule. Using the backplate of the more modern CEK-12 variant as a basis, this capsule overcomes many of the manufacturing limitations of the original hand-made capsule which made it prohibitively complex and difficult to manufacture consistently or in high numbers. The o-ring and housing are all made from brass (no teflon parts), and our capsule diaphragm is 24k gold sputtered and skinned using 6 micron, NOS Japanese PET film (mylar). The end result is a very consistent, reliable capsule which matches the frequency response and tonality of the classic.

The value king AKG C414XLSII Drum, Instrument, All Around Workhorse
Jan 23rd 2026The WA-14, especially at the deal you get on B-Stock, is an absolute legend. Warm Audio is phenomenal about making products that are so close to their legendary counterparts that you can be fooled in a double blind test. I encourage anyone to give this mic a Turing test against something like the C414 from AKG, nearly 3 times the price, and really make note of the differences. The HPF, Polar Patterns, and clarity of the flat face mics are so similar, you'd have to really search the details to hear the differences. I've used this mic, as well as the C214 and C414 on drums, brass instruments, and guitars, and been extremely satisfied with the results. I prefer to break out the WA-14 over the AKG now-a-days because I can carry it with me and not sweat damaging it as much. What a great mic and a great company!
