Universal Audio Volt 4 Max USB Audio Interface

The Universal Audio Volt 4 Max USB Audio Interface brings serious studio capability to a compact desktop setup, combining 32-bit / 192 kHz conversion, flexible 12-in / 6-out connectivity, two Tone Shaping Preamps, onboard Max compression, and smart recording tools that help you capture polished tracks from the start.

Whether you are recording vocals and instruments, producing with external synths, running a livestream, or building out a project studio, Volt 4 Max gives you classic analog-inspired color, modern workflow conveniences, and enough expansion to keep up as your setup grows. Designed by the same Universal Audio team behind the Apollo family, the Volt 4 Max goes well beyond the basics of a typical USB audio interface. Its two digitally controlled mic preamps provide 60 dB of gain along with three Tone Shaping modes - Warmth, Focus, and Shine - that offer Tube, Solid State, and British Class-A-inspired harmonic character. Pair those modes with six Max Processing compressor presets based on the response of legendary designs such as the 1176 and LA-2A, and you have more than 18 combinations for shaping vocals, guitars, bass, and other sources before they ever reach your DAW. The Volt 4 Max is also built to make everyday recording faster. Auto-Gain helps establish appropriate input levels in seconds, while Clip Protection responds to unexpected peaks before they spoil an otherwise great performance. A full-color Smart Display provides clear visual feedback for levels and settings, while Main/Alt speaker switching, dual headphone outputs, a built-in talkback microphone, loopback, MIDI I/O, and an integrated USB hub give the interface the kind of control-room functionality normally associated with larger studio systems. Optical ADAT or S/PDIF input provides additional digital expansion, and the included UAD software collection and LUNA Digital Audio Workstation give you a substantial set of tools for recording, producing, and mixing right out of the box.
