The TK Audio M/S Station is a professional-grade mid-side processor and mastering tool designed to give engineers and producers complete control over stereo image, low-end focus, and parallel processing in a single 1U rack unit. At its core is a parallel insert with M/S encoding, allowing you to insert external processors into the Mid (L+R) and Side (L–R) paths independently and blend processed and dry signals with precise, stepped controls — ideal for subtle parallel compression, saturation, or effects on specific spatial elements of a mix. It also features a stepped Elliptical EQ that sums low-frequency content to mono below selectable thresholds (36–302 Hz) for tighter, more mono-compatible low end, and an intuitive Stereo Width control that adjusts the balance between mono and expanded stereo imaging.
Beyond processing, the M/S Station includes an advanced cue section that lets you solo Left, Right, Mid, Side, and insert return signals at various points in the signal path for accurate monitoring and decision-making. All functions are split across two linkable sections that can be unlinked for flexible placement in your signal chain, and relays are used in the cue path to preserve integrity while switching sources. Whether you’re mastering, shaping stereo perspective, or integrating external hardware into mid-side workflows, this unit brings comprehensive mid-side control alongside high-quality audio performance.
Important Usage Note:
The TK Audio MS Station is optimized for use with modern, phase-coherent outboard gear. When using vintage-style or diode-based compressors in the insert loop, we recommend running them 100% wet (serial) rather than using the wet/dry or Blend Split controls. Some classic designs can cause stereo image changes when blended in parallel due to the way their circuits handle phase and impedance. This is normal behavior and does not indicate a problem with the MS Station or the external processor.
