The Teegarden Audio Magic Pre 4200 Xpander Preamp is a 4-channel Discrete Mic/Line Preamplifier designed to expand your Magic Pre 4200 into a multichannel system. But you have to have a power supply first!
For those of you who can't get enough channels, the Magic Pre 4200 Preamp features external power supply that can power up to 32 channels (that's 8 rack units). The power connections are daisy-chained through each Xpander preamp. Multichannel users can buy their first Magic Pre 4200 Preamp and then add subsequent Xpander preamps bringing your per-channel cost lower.
Upon considering feedback from users and pondering the real needs of the audio community, Teegarden Audio has now introduce the Magic Pre 4200 Preamp. Producers, musicians, engineers, and studio owners will find the same level of sonic juiciness in which they have come to trust and depend. The channel layout is more intuitive and ergonomic. You can effortlessly navigate the controls on each channel and the labeling is easy to understand. And face it, the graphics are just - WOW! New to the Magic Pre 4200 is the 31-step Alps pots. They feels great, are so solid, and allow precise control of gain staging on stereo sources, getting back to where you were when adjusting for dynamic performances, or recalling your settings for future sessions. Teegarden Audio took the opportunity to add the much-debated polarity switch. In adding this switch, we've gone to great lengths to ensure its reliable performance, which helps maintain the highest audio fidelity. Room was made for a larger dual impedance mic input transformer*, giving you the option of how to drive the front end on a channel-by-channel basis (switched internally). An often requested addition is the Buffered Line Input allowing you to switch in some Maigic Color and Gain to your line level signals. Great for summing or putting a little analog warmth on those sometimes cold and lifeless digital sources. One last added feature is an even lower noise and distortion floor.
