The Synergy Z Wreck Preamp Module is a 2-channel all-tube preamp module that brings the distinct tone and feel of the legendary Dr. Z Z Wreck amplifier.
The Synergy Z Wreck Preamp Module is designed to be used with Synergy's modular hardware systems. It features an innovative onboard zero-watt power amplifier, phase inverter, and transformer, which allows it to capture the power amp's harmonic and dynamic characteristics that are crucial to the original amp's expressive sound. The module is loaded with Tung-Sol 12AX7 tubes and includes touch-sensitive "Speed" and "Comfort" settings, along with independent EQ and a "Cut" control to replicate the original's distinctive vintage tone.

The Synergy Z Wreck Preamp Module module features a three-position switch on the PCB, which allows you to configure the input tube bass response to match the original circuit of the selected module. These settings affect the feel and tightness.

- Integrated Power Amp Circuitry: Unlike other Synergy modules, the Z Wreck module includes an onboard zero-watt power amp section, a phase inverter, and a transformer. This is a groundbreaking feature that allows the module to authentically reproduce the power amp's signature touch-sensitivity, compression, and bloom.
- Tung-Sol 12AX7 Preamp Tubes: It is loaded with premium Tung-Sol 12AX7 tubes, known for their articulate midrange and brilliant top-end, which are essential for achieving the Z Wreck's authentic tone.
- Speed & Comfort Switches: The module includes a Speed/Comfort switch that defines the touch response. "Speed" offers a stronger attack, increased clarity, and dynamic headroom, while "Comfort" provides a softer, vintage feel with more overall sweetness.
- "Cut" Control: A "Cut" knob provides control over the module's high-end detail, subtly adjusting the treble characteristics and adding punch to the mids.
- Cathode Selector: A three-position switch on the PCB allows users to configure the input tube bass response, enabling the selection between different "American," "British," or "Soldano-like" low-end characters.
