The Synergy Tone King Imperial MKII Preamp Module is a compact, dual-channel, tube-powered preamp module that replicates the classic tones and feel of the Tone King Imperial MKII amplifier.
The Synergy Tone King Imperial MKII Preamp Module is designed to be used with Synergy's modular hardware systems. It offers a shimmering, blackface-era clean Rhythm channel and a thick, harmonically rich, tweed-style overdrive Lead channel. Key features include independent tone and attenuation controls for each channel, an analog bias tremolo, a proprietary "Mid-Bite" control for sculpting drive, and a Cathode Select switch for further tone shaping.
Cathode Select Function
Like all Synergy modules, the Imperial includes a three-position Cathode Select switch on its PCB, allowing you to tailor the input tube’s bass response and feel. The module comes preset to Tone King’s preferred setting, optimized to capture the warm, expressive character of the Imperial MKII, while still offering flexibility for players who want to explore alternative voicings.

- Analog Bias Tremolo: Includes a vintage-style analog bias tremolo for organic modulation.
- Mid-Bite Control: A unique feature that adjusts the overdrive structure, tightening the low end and adding upper-mid presence and gain for versatile drive textures.
- Attenuator Control: Each channel has an attenuator (Master Volume) for precise level control.
- HF Comp Switch: A treble-cut control to soften high frequencies when using the attenuator, found on the original amp.
- Cathode Select Switch: A three-position switch on the module's PCB to adjust the input tube's bass response and feel.
