The Synergy RD Tube Preamp Module puts two distinct flavors of British high-gain tone into one flexible, all-tube module, giving guitarists everything from tight, aggressive rock crunch to thick, saturated modern gain.
With two fully independent channels, selectable ROCK and DARK voicings, and extensive control over both tone and feel, the RD makes it easy to build complementary rhythm and lead sounds or create two completely different gain structures within a single Synergy module. Designed for the Synergy all-tube modular preamp system, the RD features two identical channels, each with independent Gain, Bass, Middle, Treble, and Volume controls. ROCK mode delivers a focused, articulate response with strong midrange punch, defined attack, and enough gain to move comfortably from muscular rock rhythms to singing lead tones. Switch to DARK mode and the character becomes thicker and more saturated, with additional low-end weight and a more compressed feel suited to heavy rhythm work, modern metal, doom-inspired textures, and fluid sustained leads. Tone shaping goes beyond the familiar front-panel controls. Each channel includes a three-position Bright switch for adjusting the top-end response, while a three-position Cathode Select switch changes how much low frequency content reaches the gain stages. Position 1 provides the fullest, loosest response with a softer attack and greater bloom under saturation. Position 2, the factory setting, trims low end before the gain stages for the tightest and most focused attack. Position 3 strikes a balance between the two, adding body without becoming as loose as Position 1. Combined with two 12AX7 preamp tubes, these controls give the RD the dynamic response, harmonic richness, and playing feel expected from a true tube preamp.
