The RME Fireface UFX II Audio Interface delivers a rich feature set that will appeal to users in both high end home studios and commercial audio production facilities. The RME Fireface UFX II offers excellent flexibility that enables the interface to fit seamlessly into a myriad of production environments. Analog, ADAT, AES, SPDIF, and USB 2 are all standard on the RME Fireface UFX II. Equally impressive is the unit's channel count: 12 analog, 16 ADAT, and 2 AES for 30 channels input and 30 channels output. Further, with support for USB 2 connectivity, the new RME Fireface UFX II can integrate with RME's optional ARC USB remote controller.

The RME's Fireface UFX II incorporates premium AD/DA converters, optimized analog I/O circuits, as well as improved SNR and THD values to guarantee pristine, crystal clear and transparent audio. A new PAD-free mic circuit design with +18 dBu maximum input level and 75 dB gain range provides trouble-free operation for the most demanding recording environments. Further, new low impedance, high power phones outputs (2 Ohms) with +19 dBu maximum output level provide ample output power and volume on any headphones - high or low impedance.

    Very best all-in-one interface

    I upgraded from Babyface Pro to UFX2 and felt it had a noticeable improvement in terms of converters and the mic preamp. This maschine is being used to hook up to my keyboard instruments, mixer, external converters, etc., and I like it is really versatile and stable in complex setup surroundings.

    Have 5 products by RME and always select this company for 2 reasons -- their stuff works and the quality is always comparable to the best in the field. Have a UCX as well and find the UFX to be substantially more useful in a small home studio. Haven't tried the standalone USB stick recording feature yet but if this works, it will be a great help in single-person recording situations. Their equipment lasts -- have an ADI96-Pro from 2000 and it still works through SPDIF connection. BTW, suggest you get a converter that speaks through USB -- it is much more likely to last as computers evolve.
