Building on the ADI-2 Pro platform, the EX version introduces a redesigned ventilated chassis, increased headphone output power, a lockable USB-C connection, 12V trigger output, enhanced DC protection, and improved power-supply protection. At its core are AK5574 A/D and AK4493 D/A conversion stages paired with RME SteadyClock FS technology for precise clocking and exceptionally transparent conversion. Two servo-balanced analog inputs, balanced and impedance-balanced analog outputs, AES, coaxial and optical S/PDIF, ADAT, and USB-C give the ADI-2 Pro EX plenty of flexibility for integrating with professional studio and hi-fi systems. The ADI-2 Pro EX goes well beyond straightforward conversion. Its high-resolution display provides access to 5-band parametric EQ, bass and treble adjustment, adjustable loudness, binaural crossfeed, selectable converter filters, M/S processing, stereo width control, phase reversal, and RME’s 30-band Spectral Analyzer. Dual Extreme Power headphone outputs accommodate a wide range of headphones, while RME’s Advanced Balanced mode provides up to +28 dBu output level and substantial power for demanding headphone loads.
