The Pinnacle Microphones Fat Top Ribbon Microphone is a short ribbon passive microphone that delivers a warm, rich, fat, rounded tone. This version features a brown body with gold grill.

The bi-directional polar pattern picks up sound essentially equally from both faces with a large null between faces ideal for isolating sound sources. Best suited for guitar cabinets, piano, brass and percussion instruments. Can be used in pairs in a Blumlein set up to pick up the entire room.

The Pinnacle Fat Top is the same ribbon mic you came to know and love, under it's previous name - the Cascade Fat Head. It is a full, warm, meaty, and punchy ribbon mic, with lots of rich character. Put it on outside kick drum, bass guitar cab, and electric guitar cab - and you will see just how cool this mic is. Of course it handles acoustic guitars and drum overheads fine as well, but for me - this is the way to get a killer hard rock or metal guitar tracked at a price point that is very inviting.
