The Pearlman TM-250 Tube Microphone is a hand built recreation of the famous Telefunken 250 Microphone.
The Pearlman TM-250 utilizes a C12 type capsule that is hand-made in Denmark by Tim Campbell. Old style carbon resistors are used in the audio circuit to maintain the original sound. A select 6072 (12AY7) tube is hand picked and tested for use in the microphone as only the best tubes will be used. The CINEMAG output transformer is an accurate replica of the original part from a sixties era Tele 250 and delivers that beautiful, vintage smoothness. All mics are still hand-made one at a time and are wired point-to-point.
Hand Built, Not Manufactured
Each Pearlman Microphone is hand-built by Dave Pearlman himself in small batches, right here in the USA. These are not factory-produced microphones - they are individually crafted instruments, assembled with care and tuned by ear to deliver the signature Pearlman sound that engineers and artists around the world love. Because of this boutique, hands-on process, no two Pearlman microphones look exactly alike. You may notice slight tooling marks, finish variations, or other small cosmetic differences from unit to unit. These are normal characteristics of Dave’s hand-built approach and a reflection of the microphone’s authenticity - not defects. In fact, many engineers see these unique touches as part of the charm and artistry that make Pearlman microphones truly special. Please also note that packaging may vary or appear simpler compared to mass-produced brands. Dave puts his focus where it matters most - in the design and sound quality of every microphone he builds.
