The Pearlman TM-12A Tube Microphone is built from the original AKG schematics. It has a CK12 capsule made by Tim Campbell in Denmark, a NOS 7586 Nuvistor tube, a wet tantalum capacitor, and a custom wound output transformer by Cinemag transformers.
The Pearlman TM-12A Tube Microphone is designed and hand made by Dave Pearlman in Los Angeles, CA. A Mogami cable with Neutrik ends, power supply, shock mount, and complimentary aluminum carrying case is always included with Pearlman Microphones. Gluten-free. The TM-12A utilizes the same body and head basket from the TM-2. The main circuit is a faithful recreation of the C12A, but with the addition of a -10dB pad. The capsule is a Tim Campbell handmade CK12 style capsule that is 34mm and edge terminated. Further the TM-12A features a NOS 7586 Nuvistor Tube, and USA made customer Cinemag transformer.
Hand Built, Not Manufactured
Each Pearlman Microphone is hand-built by Dave Pearlman himself in small batches, right here in the USA. These are not factory-produced microphones - they are individually crafted instruments, assembled with care and tuned by ear to deliver the signature Pearlman sound that engineers and artists around the world love. Because of this boutique, hands-on process, no two Pearlman microphones look exactly alike. You may notice slight tooling marks, finish variations, or other small cosmetic differences from unit to unit. These are normal characteristics of Dave’s hand-built approach and a reflection of the microphone’s authenticity - not defects.
