    3 lb counterweight

After seeing these, I had to try one. I slipped one onto the base of an extended boom mic stand with a heavy, LDC mic and it makes it much more stable.

    A nice addition

When I saw the Counterweights I had to try then out. My studio has carpet on the floor, which makes the mic stands a little more unstable, especially when a heavy tube mic is on an extended boom. The Counterweight realy helps to balance out the stand. I'm Very glad I bought them!!! I no longer worry about my mics crashing to the floor. Try one. You'll buy more. You can also slip one on at the bottom of the mic stand for more stability. It works GREAT that way too.
