The DPA DDK4000 Drum Microphone Kit captures the sublime, honest sound of the drum kit. Selected for their ability to capture precise sound, each microphone in this kit can be used on a wide range of instruments.

DPA’s selection of mics for the drum kit is designed specifically to put the sound engineer in control of the sound. By starting with the clear, true sound of the entire kit, the engineer has the best starting point to shape the sound wanted for the situation. These mics guarantee a natural and precise sound reproduction of the entire kit. The specific mic placements prevent artefacts, bleed and other shadowing effects.

The DPA DDK4000 Drum Microphone Kit gives you everything you need to outfit a five piece drumkit, and get stellar, pristine, high definition sound. All the mics are natural in tone, with a wide frequency response, and tailored to handle high SPL. This gives you a true representation of your drums, and allows a perfect blank canvas to create and shape the tone you want. I personally found that there was no need to EQ any of the drums. Just a normal high-pass on the overheads, and the drums sounded amazing, with tons of space and depth. This is an impressive kit, for both the studio and the stage!
