Warm Audio has partnered with legendary British console manufacturer Sound Techniques to introduce the new Sound Techniques Jude Microphone Preamps, bringing one of recording history’s most elusive console preamp designs to modern studios in both single- and dual-channel formats. Based directly on Geoff Frost’s original Sound Techniques console preamp schematics, the new Jude preamps were developed in official collaboration with Sound Techniques and manufactured by Warm Audio to preserve the circuitry, components, response, and character of the original design. That circuit traces its lineage to the custom Sound Techniques “A-Range” consoles that helped shape countless classic recordings during the golden era of British recording. Sound Techniques consoles could be found in studios including Trident Studios, De Lane Lea, Sunset Sound, and Elektra Sound Recorders, and the A-Range preamp circuit became part of recordings by artists including The Beatles, David Bowie, Elton John, Queen, Fleetwood Mac, The Who, The Rolling Stones, Jeff Beck, and Paul McCartney. The Jude name itself is a nod to The Beatles’ “Hey Jude,” one of the recordings associated with the Sound Techniques console sound.
