SAAS Type III MP500 500-Series Preamp – Vintage Sphere Console Sound!

SAAS Type III MP500 500-Series Preamp – Vintage Sphere Console Sound! We're excited to welcome the Soviet American Audio Systems (SAAS) Type III MP500 500-Series Preamp to Front End Audio! Inspired by the legendary Sphere Eclipse Type III recording console, this impressive new microphone preamp brings vintage console character, modern flexibility, and serious analog tone to your 500-Series rack.

At the heart of the SAAS Type III MP500 500-Series Preamp are two proprietary SAAS DOA60 discrete op amps and newly manufactured Reichenbach 7341 input and 7393 output transformers, built using the same original drawings and materials as those found in vintage Sphere consoles. The result is a rich, dimensional sound with exceptional detail, punch, and musicality. What makes the MP500 particularly exciting is its dual-gain-stage design, allowing engineers to independently control input gain and output level. With a 12-position Grayhill gain switch, up to 83 dB of available gain, selectable input impedances, and a +20 dB output boost, you can dial in everything from clean, detailed recordings to harmonically rich analog coloration. And there's more! The MP500 features a dedicated active DI circuit inspired by classic 1970s instrument amplifiers, making it a fantastic choice for recording bass, guitars, and other instruments. Add in 48V phantom power, polarity reversal, a -20 dB pad, and a 10-segment LED output meter, and you've got a seriously versatile preamp that's ready for just about anything your studio throws at it.

If you love the sound of vintage recording consoles but want the convenience and flexibility of modern recording equipment, the SAAS Type III MP500 deserves a spot on your radar!
